Bay Area Public Transit Adapts to COVID-19 with Accessibility in Mind

Updated: Apr 3, 2022

We recently hosted a webinar, Shifting Gears: How Public Transit is Adapting to COVID-19 With Accessibility in Mind, featuring representatives from Bay Area Rapid Transit, AC Transit, SFMTA | San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, Capitol Corridor, and Seamless Bay Area.

Panelists shared their efforts in making public transit safe from COVID-19 with accessibility in mind. Each panelist answered the following questions:

  • What steps is your transit agency taking to reduce the spread of COVID-19?

  • How do these steps keep accessibility in mind?

  • What are the important ADA/accessibility-related regulations that have been implemented?

  • What is the best way for customers to contact your agency for concerns or complaints?

We also answered public concerns and inquiries relating to public transportation in the Bay Area. We heard from Seamless Bay Area, a nonprofit whose mission is to promote a more seamless Bay Area transit system, about their vision for a more equitable, accessible, and seamless transit system.
